Alexa rankings is similar to TV rankings, using a toolbox used on TV sets to ascertain programme popularity. Alexa toolbar however can only be used in Internet Explorer and not compatible with Firefox. Well now I’ve the perfect solution for Firefox user.

A common misconception about Alexa is that only IE users add to the ranking, as the toolbar is not available for Firefox, or other browsers. Fortunately, as firefox is an open source application, someone was able to write an Alexa Plug in for it. This plug in shows both Google and Alexa rank

So if you’re a Firefox user, after you install this add-on, when you surf at your own or other people’s blogs, the add-on file will ping the Alexa traffic monitoring server that there’s traffic at the blog, thus it’s rankings will increase. You could even request your readers to download this file. Ask them to visit your blog with this toolbar. It’s easy to install and so far I’ve had no problems. Just another way to ‘cheat’ the system.
